Hola amigos,
We are going to test something, a new addition to this newsletter. We are still 100% dedicated and passionate about bringing the profiles of Climate Tech leaders that we interview in ClimateTech Talks. Beyond the news, and rapid acceleration of the entire Climate ecosystem, we really want to get to know the psyche and modus operandi of those moving the climate needle, in Venture Capital, Climate Finance, sustainable leadership, on the human energy transitions and so forth.
But at the same time we know that you are eager in staying climate-and-ventured-informed, so we want to deliver more value to your inbox. From now on, every monday you will receive a curated top 3 climate and venture news of the preceding week, a great chart and an awesome map. That’s it. Simplicity. Always. Wins.
This is an experiment, and if you like it, please comment, share it, o regálaselo a la abuela.
Here we go!

Without help for oil-producing countries, net zero by 2050 is a distant dreamin The Guardian
With Ali Allawi / Deputy prime minister and finance minister of Iraq and Fatih Birol executive director of the International Energy Agency. What will be the destiny of O&G producing countries within the Energy Transition? Especially developing nations like Venezuela, Suriname, Nigeria, Iraq, etc.
To meet climate targets and avoid economic collapse, countries such as Iraq need international support in the transition to clean energy. Countries such as Iraq cannot make the transition to clean energy alone. If they are to bring together the financial resources, expertise and policies to transform their economies in an equitable, affordable way, they will need international support. Otherwise, the path to net zero and the security of the world’s energy markets will both be imperilled.

Map of the week
Sad but beautiful animated map made by Dan Majka of the average direction mammals, birds, and amphibians will need to move to track hospitable climates as their habitats change due to climate.
